I am Edinburgh born and Surbiton based. I am in my thirties, a husband and a father. I graduated with a 2:1 in journalism in 2007 and have worked several different writing jobs since then.
My main interests and passions are - in no particular order - music, skiing, cars, politics, football, the environment, film and television.
I've been lucky enough to write about some of these things so far - dance music for Mixmag and Resident Advisor, football for Four Four Two, film and television for The Skinny and On The Box, skiing for Crystal Ski Holidays - but still have many subjects I'd like to cover.
I was lucky enough to put journalism theory into practice at two fine financial publishers, learning about pensions and investment at Euromoney Institutional Investor, then mortgages, insurance and the adviser market at the Financial Times.
Over the last decade I've gained social media, SEO and CMS skills, taken courses in investigative reporting and worked out how to use online analytics. Most crucially, I've become an editor as well as a writer, something which I'd like to continue mastering.
On this site you'll find a portfolio of my on and offline work, along with a blog I sporadically update when inspired to do so.
If you like what you read, fell free to contact me, or even better, you could pay me to write some more...
